a beam of light into the depths of Winter’s pools ♡

First of all, there’s a soup recipe
And secondly, this is Queer anti-fascist art
As a collective of people writing from a lesbian, trans, bisexual, nonbinary, disabled, autistic, anti-Zionist Jewish, youth justice perspective, it’s important to us that a portion of the funds from this magazine go toward liberation: this issue sponsors eSIMs in Palestine and a queer club at an underfunded Latine high school in California. ¡Larga vida a la revolución!
This inaugural issue centers on solstice and the importance of honoring the cycles of seasons and life. We meet legendary anarchist Elsa Gidlow, the lesbian poet warrior and receive her annual Winter’s blessing: *Chains of Fire,* connecting us to our sapphic ancestors.
We also get into the mother core of creation through the film Frankenstein (2025) and meditate on the passage of time: so stark now as the daylight wanes and we yet again greet friendly Orion in the early dark. There’s also film reviews, a history lesson on the queer use of the color yellow, poetry, jokes, trivia, seasonal traditions, and incredible surrealist art.
We hope this refracted rainbow of queer media is a beam of sunlight to your soul.
